Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

How do I tell whether my supply lines are galvanised?

Galvanised pipe is dull grey steel and a magnet sticks to it. Copper is obvious by colour, and PEX is flexible plastic in red, blue or white. Age is the other clue: a house that predates the growth out toward Rio Rancho is a good candidate for steel that's rusting shut from the inside.

A pipe burst while I was away. What comes first?

Water off at the main, then power off to any circuit near the wet area. After that, photograph everything before anything gets torn out. Whether the damage is covered depends entirely on your policy, so call your insurance provider early and let them tell you what they need.

Is a curb stop the same thing as my house shutoff?

No. The curb stop sits in the meter box at the property line and belongs to the water system, and it takes a long key to operate. Your house shutoff is the valve you should be able to reach and turn by hand indoors.

Why do so many older houses here have no accessible shutoff?

They were built before an indoor valve was standard, and a lot of them were never retrofitted. It's common in the older parts of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque too. Adding one is a small job compared to what a burst line costs in drywall.
